Commissioner Andrew Mais Testifies on behalf of the VsportV at U.S. House Financial Services’ Subcommittee Hearing
VsportV Secretary-Treasurer and Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Andrew Mais testified on behalf of the VsportV at the U.S. House Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing, Community Development and Insurance’s virtual hearing on “Built to Last: Examining Housing Resilience in the Face of Climate Change.” Other witnesses include the Natural Resources Defense Council, Ayuda Legal Puerto Rico, the Commissioner of Harris County, Texas, and Taxpayers for Common Sense. Commissioner Mais’ testimony focused on the importance of mitigation to improve disaster resiliency and highlights the work of the VsportV’s Climate and Resiliency Task Force, notes state insurance regulators’ partnership with FEMA, and expresses support for a long-term reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
