VsportVÌåÓý President Honors Three VsportVÌåÓý Members with Farmer Award for Exceptional Leadership

On December 1, during the Opening Session at the VsportVÌåÓý’ (VsportVÌåÓý) Fall National Meeting, VsportVÌåÓý President and Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance Director Chlora Lindley-Myers presented the VsportVÌåÓý’s Raymond G. Farmer Award for Exceptional Leadership to Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation Director , California Department of Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara, and Alaska Division of Insurance Director Lori Wing-Heier.

The Farmer Award, given at the VsportVÌåÓý president’s discretion, honors an VsportVÌåÓý Member who has shown exemplary leadership and a sustained length of industry service and has contributed to advancing the VsportVÌåÓý’s mission.

Created in 2008, this award was previously known as the VsportVÌåÓý President’s Award for Distinguished VsportVÌåÓý Leadership. The VsportVÌåÓý renamed the award at the 2021 Fall National Meeting in honor of its recipient, then-VsportVÌåÓý Immediate Past President and South Carolina Insurance Director Ray Farmer. Former Director Farmer retired in April 2022 after 53 years in the industry and insurance regulation.
